1 silver lining after Josh Giddy’s hamstring injury

On Monday night, The Chicago Bulls retired down to Earth with a 136-101 home loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Making matters worse for the Bulls was the fact that both Kobe White and Josh Giddei was forced out this game due to injury, and Giddei went down with a hamstring injury at one point in the loss.
Fortunately, the initial updates on Giddei were from positive variety.
“FVIV: Josh Giddei just made it through the locker room without a limp,” Chicago Sports Network’s KC Johnson reported on X, formerly Twitter.
Giddy has been a key figure for the Bulls this year, working his way to an All-Star bid and turning into a nightly triple-double threat. Many mocked the Bulls when they acquired Giddy in exchange for fan favorite Alex Caruso last year in a deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder, but now fans are starting to understand what the front office’s vision was when they made the move.
Meanwhile, White exited in the first quarter with a calf strain after missing the first part of the season with the same injury.
All in all, it was a great season for the Bulls in 2025-26. The team stormed out of the gates to a surprising 5-0, before crashing back down to Earth and eventually finding themselves well below the .500 mark. However, before the game against the Timberwolves, the team has started to bounce back a bit, including two straight wins on the road against the Atlanta Hawks last week.
The Bulls are now 15-17 on the season, and if Giddy and White are forced to miss extended time, they could be in for a tough stretch moving forward.
The Bulls next take the field on New Year’s Eve at home against the New Orleans Pelicans.
