2 facts that show how pathetic a 7-game playoff losing streak is

The Pittsburgh Steelers he was one-and-done again in the playoffs. Pittsburgh was defeated by Houston 30-6 on Monday night in a game in which they surrendered 23 unanswered points in the fourth quarter. Now the Steelers have set some unfortunate NFL records after falling short in the first round of the playoffs once again.

The Steelers now have lost seven straight playoff gamesaccording to ESPN’s Bill Barnwell. In addition, Pittsburgh trailed on every second-half snap in each of those playoff games.

It’s bad enough that Pittsburgh has consistently lost in the postseason. But it’s even worse to realize that they were far from competitive in most of those matches.

Another amazing fact emphasizes that point even more.

The Steelers are the first team in NFL history to lost five straight playoff games by double digits according to ESPN Insights via ESPN’s Brooke Prior.

Maybe these stats make the Steelers look worse than they actually were in the playoffs.

Take Monday’s game for example, Pittsburgh was able to hang with Houston for most of the game. The score was 7-6 in favor of the Texans going into halftime. It remained the same at the start of the fourth quarter, as neither team scored in the third quarter.

But it’s impossible to deny how much the Steelers collapsed in the final 15 minutes.

The Texans forced two defensive turnovers, including a scoop-and-score after a sack and a pick-six by Aaron Rodgers.

How was the Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin respond to Pittsburgh’s playoff losing streak?

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin isn’t happy with his team’s postseason losing streak.

Tomlin said ‘words are cheap’ when asked about it after the game.

“When you don’t do it, words are cheap. It’s about what you do, or don’t do,” Tomlin said. “So I appreciate the question, but people talk too much in our business. Either you want it or you don’t.”

He gave credit to Houston’s fierce defense, which certainly made the difference in the game.

“They ruled. They certainly had a reputation for coming in and they backed it up with their performance,” Tomlin concluded. “That’s just how it goes.”

Now the Steelers have to figure out what went wrong during the offseason.
