3 potential Ajo Dosunmu trade destinations as the Bulls ponder the future

Is this the season that The Chicago Bulls are finally facing the music and act as a sales force before the trade deadline? The jury is still out on how the Bulls have made it their mission in life to qualify for the playoffs. However, in the event that Chicago is sold, someone like Aio Dosunmuwhose skill set makes him an easy fit on a competitive team, could land them a quality asset on the trade market.

Now, Dosunmu will now pay the Bulls a royalty since he is in the final year of his contract. He could be a regular three-month rental for any team. Regardless, according to ClutchPoints NBA Insider Brett Siegel, the 25-year-old guard/forward has been drafted a lot of interest (and that nothing is concrete) on the market from teams with aspirations of going deep into the playoffs.

“When we talk about the market for Dosunmu, there haven’t been any definitive teams chasing him. It’s just more scouts, agents and team executives kind of putting the pieces together. The three teams I want to mention have come up … the first one is the Detroit Pistons. … I think the Orlando Pistons brought up another spot for the Landunmu Magic who could be a potential team for Dosunmu … up there is the Houston Rockets,” Sigel told Tomer Azarly on Clutch Scoops.

The Pistons could certainly use a man of Dosunmu’s skill set. He is an effective shooting midfielder, and could play a variety of roles, from spot-up shooter to clearance to pick-and-roll ball handler. He provides additional insurance for the Pistons at either guard position.

In the meantime, the Magic should view him as an upgrade over Tyus Jones. But their need at point guard declined even with the injury to Jalen Suggs and the emergence of Anthony Black as an incredible young player.

If a team needs Dosunmu the most, it’s the Rockets. They need better guard play all around, and Dosunmu shouldn’t cost too much on the market.
