Texan’s Joe Mixon Gets Revenge On Rex Ryan For Breathing ‘Bye Week’

Before theirs 32-12 win over the Los Angeles Chargers to kick off Wild Card Weekend, Joe Mikon and the Houston Texas had extra motivation on Saturday. When the playoffs are set, ESPN Ryan said gave his opinion on the Chargers-Texans matchup, noting that it would be easy win for Jim Harbaugh and Justin Herbert, according to social media user “sidelinesarah” on Ks.
“Yeah, I mean, I never realized the Chargers got a bye, they qualified for a bye, but they did because they’re playing Houston,” Ryan said, stifling a laugh. “This team right here is No. 1 in the National Soccer League in scoring defense. And by the way, Quentin Johnston, he can actually catch the ball. He had 13 catches. Do you remember this? The kid who couldn’t catch a cold. Suddenly, now he’s catching the ball. They move it, they can hit you with the run game. They also realized they had a Hall of Fame quarterback.”
Now, while Herbert did not make an appearance in the Hall of Fame against the Texans in the Wild Card round, Mixon and the Texans had Ryan’s comments fresh in their minds after the victory, according to Ari Meirov on Ks.
“Rex Ryan said the Chargers have a ‘bye week’ before the Texans,” Meirow wrote. “Joe Mixon is celebrating it now.

After their dominant playoff win, the Texans quarterback joined some of his teammates to celebrate the win with congratulatory cigars. While smoking cigars, Mixon and the Texans texted Rex Ryan after his comments.
“We’re smoking on that pack of Rex Ryan bye week,” Mixon said, lighting a cigar after the Texans’ Wild Card victory. “Come on, Rex. Come on, man. H-Town, we’re on fire tonight. Pick us up, man.”
Now, as the Texans await their next playoff opponent, they can look back on a successful start Wild Card Weekend while smoking on the “Rek Ryan pack”.
