Ravens Derrick Henry reveals how Baltimore dominated the Steelers on the ground
Another season, another triumph in the Wild Card round for the Baltimore Ravens. This year they defeated their hated division rivals, Pittsburgh Steelers at home, 28-14. The Ravens’ rushing attack was the source of the night’s dominance, as they ran the ball 50 times for 299 yards on the night. Running back Derrick Henry discussed his performance, along with star showcase of his quarterback, Lamar Jacksonplaced during the win, Kayleigh Hartung of Amazon Prime.
“He is the best player in the league.” That’s what’s expected,’ King Henry tells @KaileeHartung about Lamar Jackson’s amazing performance,” the NFL posted on the Prime Video account on X, formerly Twitter.
Jackson is one of champions for this season’s MVP award. If the Ravens signal caller wins, it would be the third MVP win of his career. A well-deserved honor indeed, but it highlights the divide in Jackson’s career thus far. He was excellent, even transcendent at times, during the regular season. However, he did not play up to those standards in the postseason. Today’s performance in the win over Pittsburgh was solid, but not the best. Can Jackson and the Baltimore offense take the next step against whoever they face in the Divisional Round?

Two potential matches the Ravens are waiting next weekend. First, a trip to Buffalo to play the second-seeded Bills. This is the more likely of the two scenarios, as Buffalo hosts the seventh-seeded Denver Broncos in Game 1 on Sunday afternoon. Another scenario? They would host the Houston Texans, who defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 32-12 in the first game of Saturday’s Wild Card game. Both games would bring their own set of challenges.
Going to Buffalo would likely be more difficult, as the Bills have another front-runner MVP at quarterback: Josh Allen. Their defense has risen to the occasion, and they’ve beaten multiple playoff teams this season, including the top-ranked Kansas City Chiefs. The other potential matchup, at home against Houston, would be a repeat of last season’s Division I matchup that was convenient the Ravens won. They would be favored in the match this year as well.
Each path is filled with challenges. This time of the season determines who wants it more. Who is ready to give more and perform. This is an area where Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh and his staff have found success in the past. They have to be able to do it again. It can Jackson, Henry, and others criminal offense continue their dominance on the field? If so, a path straight to the AFC Championship Game, and possibly beyond, is in sight.
