Dave Portnoy called Chargers’ Justin Herbert the ‘most overrated’ QB in the NFL
The The Los Angeles Chargers came into their own Wild Card playoff game with the Houston Texans as 3-point favorites even though the game was played at NRG Stadium, the home of the Texans. Expectations were that the Los Angeles quarterback Justin Herbert he would get the best of the Texas defense and lead the head coach Jim Harbaughwith that to victory.
Although the game started well for the Chargers as they built a 6-0 lead, they were unable to capitalize on any of their early momentum and suffered a 32-12 loss. Herbert, who played nearly flawless football in the regular season for the Chargers, threw 4 interceptions in the loss and at no point was he able to turn the game in his team’s favor.
It was a disappointing performance and Herbert received criticism online from a number of criticsincluding Bartstool Sports President Dave Portnoy, who invited Herbert “the most overrated quarterback in the league.”
Whether Portnoy is right or not, Herbert had a brutal game against the Texans. He completed just 14 of 32 passes for 242 yards with 1 TD. Until it was all his fault like Herbert was the victim due to multiple drops from his receivers, there was a sense of panic in Herbert’s game that did not appear during the regular season.
Herbert only threw 3 interceptions during the 17-game regular season, so his 4-interception performance against the Texans was shocking.
