WWE superstar CM Punk calls out first responders to fight the LA fire

Second edition of Monday Night Rav on Netflix wasn’t as star-studded as last week’s premiere, but tonight’s show was an important stop on the way to Royal Rumble. Veteran superstar CM Punk kicked off the Raw, announcing his entry into the Rumble so he could move on to the main event of WrestleMania. While announcing those intentions, Punk showed gratitude for firefighters and first responders is currently battling wildfires in the Los Angeles area.

“CM Punk shows love to firefighters and first responders,” Fightful’s Shawn Ross Sapp posted on X, formerly Twitter.

It was a beautiful moment of gratitude for these men and women fighting the deadly wildfires. Multiple fires are currently surrounding the Los Angeles area, and crews are working around the clock to try to contain them. It was a very stressful situation for the residents of this region, and the world of sports has already felt the consequences more than once. As Punk and his fellow superstars keep going towards the Rumble, it’s nice to know their thoughts are on what’s going on in the west. How will the upcoming Rumble and other events affect the run of Punk and the other wrestlers as they try to earn a spot at WrestleMania?

The Royal Rumble is the official start of the road to WrestleMania. The biggest pro wrestling event of the year, WrestleMania is the one show that every wrestler in the world, WWE or not, wants to be a part of. In a statement to the Rumble, Punk pointed that he wants to be the main event of the show also known as the “Showcase of the Immortals”. A big goal for the veteran, who returned to WWE in November 2023 to the surprise of wrestling fans around the world.

Since his return, Punk entered big feuds with former world champions in Drew McIntire (whom he defeated in a Hell in a Cell match for Bad Blood’s year contender) and Seth Rollins, who lost to Punk in the main event of Raw on Netflix last week. The three wrestlers had a showdown in the middle of the ring as Rav’s opening segment ended. Can Punk finally achieve his dream of main eventing WrestleMania? Will McIntyre, Rollins or another wrestler put that dream on hold? The road to the Rumble, like WrestleMania, will be filled with as many twists and turns as pro wrestling fans can handle.
