76ers veteran Paul George’s surprising answer about whether he deserves the Hall of Fame

It has been a busy 2024-25 campaign Philadelphia 76ers a veteran Paul George. The pairing with 2023 MVP Joel Embiid and All-Star Tyrese Maxey fell short of expectations. Embiid has missed several games due to injuries, the 76ers are below .500 at 15-22, and George is averaging 16.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.8 steals per game. That’s a significant drop from last year’s numbers (22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists). Perhaps that’s the reason for Paul’s surprising answer when asked if he deserves Hall of Fame recognition.

The Basketball Hall of Fame appeared during the recent episode podcast P, presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment.

“I don’t know.” I think I’m good with or without,” said George. “Obviously, you want the work and the longevity part of it to stand the test of time and be able to be a part of that Hall of Fame.”

For George, he has no intention of making it one day.

“If it happens it will happen, if it doesn’t it won’t,” George said. “I think I had a generation of kids that enjoyed the way I played the game. My best years, how I played the game, how I impacted the game, and that’s enough for me, man. I will continue to share and give back to the next generation of children.”

Despite reaching the conference finals three times as the closest to winning the NBA title, George was named to five All-NBA Third Teams and one All-NBA First Team nine times. He also made four All-Defensive teams. Paul is undoubtedly a lock to make room.

Paul George’s boring confession will infuriate 76ers fans

6ers76ers veteran Paul George is not a fan of playing center. With injuries to All-Star Joel Embiid and his backup center Andre Drummond, George admitted he doesn’t like the 76ers’ small-ball approach.

“It’s different. I’m used to breaking and running around and chasing and fighting through screens,” George said. “To be honest, I’m bored playing five. It just doesn’t work well enough for me. But I think Nick (Nurse) sees in that style, with my ability to clog up the middle and kind of help, cut passing and driving lanes and kind of tackle the bigs. But then again, I enjoy chasing the little guys and competing with wing offensive players.”

The 76ers will host the Thunder on Tuesday night.
