Insider reveals Jimmy Butler’s update on the likelihood of him rejoining the Heat

The The Miami Heat found a rhythm lately despite the ongoing turmoil surrounding franchise star Jimmy Butlerwho is currently serving a seven-game suspension for his alleged unprofessional conduct in recent weeks. Butler has made no secret of his desire to be traded from the Heat, but so far there doesn’t seem to be a hot market for the 35-year-old.

Recently, NBA insider Chris Haynes stopped by the Dan Le Batard Show break down The Heat’s chances of getting a good return for their former Eastern Conference Finals MVP.

“They let it be known that they were fun offers,” Haynes said. “As far as I can tell now from people I’ve talked to around the league, the Miami Heat are nowhere near trading Jimmy Butler.

Haynes also talked about a potentially awkward situation with Butler returning to the Heat lineup.

“I’ve been told he’s completely ready to come back and play for the Miami Heat if he doesn’t move by the time his suspension is lifted,” Haynes said.

If there’s one thing the Miami Heat have proven time and time again in the post-LeBron James era, it’s that they thrive on adversity.

Take for example the 2023 postseason, when the Heat were defeated at home by the Atlanta Hawks in the first playoff game and narrowly survived a scare against the Chicago Bulls in the next contest to secure the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference.

Few could have predicted at the time that the Heat would win more than a game or two in the first round, let alone make it to the NBA Finals.

Well, that’s exactly what the Heat did, led by Butler’s brilliant run in the postseason and a host of players, many of whom have now moved on to greener pastures.

Similarly, the Heat won three straight on their current trip to the West Coast in the face of the Butler controversy before finally dropping a game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night.

Either way, the Heat’s road trip will continue with a game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night.
