Kevin Kisner is clowned by fans for his poor play on Tiger Woods’ TGL team

Tiger Woods and Jupiter Links Golf Club made its TGL debut on Tuesday evening. Despite helping to found the league with Rory McIlroy, Woods’ team did not get off to a good start. Kevin Kisner was brutal in his first appearance at the SoFi Center and fans took notice on social media.

@LukeKerrDineen he felt like he was looking in the mirror at one particularly bad shot, “Kisner just chipped a 179-yard shot from 147 yards. Relatable.

Popular YouTuber Grant Horvath felt the same“I feel for Kevin Kisner right now…”

Kisner is a four-time winner on the PGA Tour, but has not been a regular on the Tour for several years. That won’t change in 2025, as he will be the lead analyst for NBC’s coverage this season. He’ll keep his card and still play some events, but that won’t be his main focus. This led to many fans questioning Woods’ decision-making when building his TGL team.

@NoLayingUp asked“Do the Keys have minor league options?” They do he came back with “Tiger creating a golf league and giving himself the worst team gives off some major Michael Jordan GM vibes.”

Through nine holes, Jupiter Links was down 8-1, losing three hammer-marked holes, meaning they are worth doubles.

The biggest criticism of TGL so far is that both matches were unsuccessful. All three New York Golf Club players struggled with an unfortunate loss to Bay Golf Club in Week 1. Now both Kisner and Woods missed shots that cost their team points. A hammer only helps when you get holes, which the Jupiter Links don’t.

The fourth member of Jupiter Links is Tom Kim, who should play next time they enter the TGL arena. Woods will almost certainly play in every match given that he is a big part of the league. Their next event is Jan. 27, which falls between the Farmer’s Insurance Open and the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, both in California.

The grades for week 1 of TGL they show that people are interested in the product, but those numbers have to be maintained. Woods’ participation in Week 2 should keep their rating close to the million mark they sniffed last week. But close matches should be the focus moving forward. Woods won’t be playing every week, so stiff competition will be a ratings driver.
