Where will Quinn Evers go in the 2025 NFL Draft?

Texas football quarterback Quinn Evers announced on Wednesday that he would not be returning to college and would instead go to the pros. Evers and the Longhorns played their final game Friday night after coming up short in the Cotton Bowl against Ohio State. Texas was in it until the very end, but they couldn’t find a way to do it. There was some speculation about Evers potentially returning to college and entering the transfer window, but he made the decision to turn pro.
Quinn Evers ended up spending four years on the Texas football team. He finished the 2022 season 172-296 through the air for 2,177 yards, 15 touchdowns and six interceptions. He took a big leap in 2023 when he finished the season 272-394 with 3,479 yards, 22 touchdowns and six picks.
This season has been pretty similar for Evers compared to last. His final season of college football saw him finish 293-445 through the air for 3,472 yards, 31 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Now, Evers is ready to turn pro.
After high school, Evers was the top quarterback in his class. He had a good college career, but it is expected that a number of QBs will be drafted before him in an already relatively weak QB class. Let’s take a look at where Evers could potentially end up.
Sporting News
The latest mock draft from Sporting News has Quinn Evers coming off the board in the first round when the Pittsburgh Steelers selected him 21st overall. Evers is the fourth KB off the board in that draft.
“The Steelers must return to the first round of the KB three years removed from the selection of Kenny Pickett, given that they have wrapped up their offensive and overall team success with various makeshift solutions over the past two seasons,” the mock draft states. “Evers can be ideal with his passing down the stretch and untapped athleticism.”
The NFL Draft Model Database currently has Evers ranks 51st overall despite being as high as #7 at one point. Sporting News is certainly one of the more optimistic mock drafts.
“According to NFL Mock Draft Database, His Pro Stock Dropped During 2024 Season,” Article from USA Today he says. “His consensus big board rank peaked at No. 7, but now sits at No. 51 — and even that’s a rebound from a drop to No. 71 among this year’s draftable talent.”
Here they are some other views about Quinn Evers:

CBS: #53 overall prospects, #4 KB
“Quinn Evers is a right-sized quarterback with noticeable arrogance in his hands, a trait that can work for him and against him.” CBS Sports’ Chris Trapasso wrote in his scouting report for Evers. “He has the ability to throw the ball effortlessly with a three-quarter release to all levels of the field and provides little glimpses of plus accuracy when operating in gunslinger mode.” While his arm is not elite, there remains clear strength in his profile.”
One issue Evers has had in his career is accuracy, and that’s something it will have to improve.
“However, Evers’ ball placement has shown little improvement over his three years as a starter, with a reasonable number of misses at all levels,” Trapasso added. “His overall accuracy needs to improve if he wants to succeed at the next level.” His footwork is often sloppy, especially when he moves from his starting spot. While he has the arm talent to push the ball vertically in those situations, his accuracy tends to falter significantly. Much of his offense relies on screens and other easy completions, and he’s shown a tendency to get confused by coverage. He’s still not a particularly adept reader of the entire field.”
Evers’ athleticism will definitely give him an edge in the NFL, but he’s definitely not known for his ability to run the football.
“On the positive side, Evers has become more agile as his career has progressed, improving his ability to avoid pass rushers in the pocket and adding modest elements of scrambling and running throws to his game,” Trapasso said. “Still, he’s unlikely to be a dangerous dual-threat quarterback at the NFL level.” The physicality is there, but this remains a raw quarterback prospect at this stage in his development.”
The NFL Draft is just a few months away and it will be interesting to see if Quinn Evers hears his name called in the first round.
