NBA: New York Knicks Stun Boston Celtics with overtime victory
Boston Celtics suffered a shock defeat from New York Kneaks, while Oklahoma City Thunder beaten Denver Nuggets in the first games of their playoffs of semifinals.
Celtics, the ruling champions, were at the wrong end of 108-105 overtime defeat at home in the introductory match of its eastern conference the best series.
Jalen Brunson and Anunobi and Anunobi has achieved 29 points for Knicks, which fought 20 points behind the third quarter.
“This team fought all year round and was a pretty good traveler,” Knicks Coach Tom Thibodea said.
“It’s one game. There’s a lot of emotional high and most favorable in the playoff, but no matter what happens, you have to keep moving on.”
Brunson missed a tray with three seconds, while Jaison Tatum, who was a joint 23-point Seltic, missed a long-lasting buzzer with a grade to 100-100 before Knicks sealed victory in the extension.
“We left some of their good shooters open,” Council Celtics Joe Mazulla said. “There are detailed things we have to be better.”
Another game in series will be played at 19:00 local time (00:00 Thursday BST) in Boston on Wednesday.
Thunder, who ended up at the top of the Western Conference, was beaten 121-119, visits Nuggets by side Nikola Jokić and Aaron Gordon.
Jokic was registered with 42 points, 22 jumps and six helpers, while Gordon – After the Holmgren brushed, two free throws for Grom – went to the other end and scored three-pointers in the closure prison.
Gordon ended with 22 points and 14 rebounds.
Denver was the last 13 points in one phase of the fourth quarter, but ended with a 19-6-year race to go in series.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Top scored to lightning as it became 33 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.
“I didn’t think our execution was as clean as it could be,” Thunder Coach Mark Daigneault said. “But we will learn from it. It’s a series.”
In the game two series will be held at 21:30 Local Time (03:30 Thursday BST) in Oklahoma on Wednesday.
