The Hawks’ social media team released the Carmelo Anthony meme after a short-lived TikTok ban

The world was in shambles when TikTok has announced that it will move on with their ban on January 19. To make matters worse, the app shut down a day earlier, leaving many users confused as to what to do next. Thankfully, the next day, TikTok announced that it would be bringing the app back, making it only a few hours before it was actually shut down. This caused everyone to joke around, including Atlanta Hawks social media team.

Hawks posted a picture of a Carmelo Anthony jersey when it was a little about the team after the trade, with the caption “Tik Tok is a banned phase”.

Anthony was traded to the Hawks along with Justin Anderson and a lottery-protected first-round pick in 2022. Dennis Schroder and Timothee Luwavo-Cabarro were sent to the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Mike Muscala was sent to the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Hawks waived Anthony, who became an unrestricted free agent and signed with the Houston Rockets.

People should be happy now that TikTok is back, but jokes will continue to fly about how quickly the app has returned. The Hawks got a lot of attention earlier in the day after beating the Boston Celtics the night before.

Jayson Tatum is usually nicknamed Anomaly, a Hawks fired at him on their social networks.

“2 wins in 2 trips here this season… not an anomaly,” the team wrote.

The Hawks come into Boston and beat the Celtics twice this season, and they look like a team that teams probably wouldn’t want to face in a playoff series. Trae Young and Jaylen Johnson have been big for success, but other players like Onyeka Okongwu are playing at a high level. Hopefully the Hawks will continue to play well and move up the table.
