Andre Drummond’s Hilarious POV on Reverse Kickout vs. Victor Wembanyama

U Philadelphia 76ers‘ wild win over the San Antonio Spurs from a month ago, Andre Drummond and Joel Embiid both had run-ins with the referees that turned the conventional game upside down. The first was kicked out and then reinstated, and the second was kicked out forever crazy win over Victor Vembanyama’s team.

In an appearance on Podcast P with Paul George, Drummond discussed his side of temptation. He explained that Wembanyama got a “superstar” on the play that resulted in Drummond’s second technical foul and was about to take a shower before someone told him the referee had overturned the ejection.

Drummond’s second call was not a good call and everyone knew it. Bizarre to see the refs overturn it and then give Vembanyama a technical flop, giving the Sixers an extra free throw. Then for THAT to tip over after a (successful) free throw attempt and finally for Embiid to be ejected, a whole spectacle was created.

Adding to the fun of the evening was the fact that judge Jenna Schroeder was caught admitting she was wrong to call another tech on Drummond. “I went back there,” he recalled, “and the ref said, ‘I f**ked up, I screwed up.’ I wonder, “What do you want me to say to that?”

Unfortunately for Drummond, he suffered an injury that cut short his return. The 76ers beat the Spurs despite not having Embiid for most of the game. It was one of the few times this season that they beat a team without significant help from the big guy.

The 76ers and Spurs will meet again on Friday, March 21. Regardless of who plays, don’t expect to see anything as wild as what happened when they first met this season.
