Chanedi Carter clarifies post after fans think she dissed Angel Reese
Chennedi Carter wants you to know she was talking about herself, no Chicago Ski teammate Angel Reesewhen she posted on X about players who consistently make layups.
The social media rampage began when Carter posted seemingly at random through Ks“I think the ability to procrastinate consistently just puts anyone on another level!” it’s so important to score easily!”
Fans were quick to note that one of the biggest criticisms of Reese during her rookie season was her habit of missing layups — which, in turn, increased her rebounding numbers as she got more opportunities.
According to the answer from @automaticnbaReese shot just 42.4% from the field, the worst mark in the WNBA for a player between 6’2 and 6’4.
Another commenter pointed out that Carter was probably talking about the Unrivaled game that was airing at the time.
A few hours later, realizing what people thought Carter was implying, she responded to her post.
“I just focus on me, it was literally for me and how special the craft is,” she wrote. “I don’t mind the spins at all.” you tell me how you really feel tbh. I had nothing to do with anyone but myself.”
Even taking Carter’s word for it, there was reason to speculate that she was talking about Reese. Although Reese publicly defended her last season during one of many Caitlin Clark foul controversysome thought Carter was taking a shot at the rookie in another social media post earlier this month.
“Not everyone deserves your loyalty,” she wrote on her Instagram story.

It appears that Kennedy Carter’s time with the Sky is over

In a surprising move, Nebo decided not to extend a qualifying offer to Carterwhich makes her an unrestricted free agent. Yes, the team can still negotiate with her and bring her back. However, she was the team’s best scorer (17.5 points).
But if the stories coming out of Chicago are true, it’s hard to imagine that happening.
Carter was allegedly the source of some locker room quarrel. When paired with Sky general manager Jeff Paljok saying the team’s offseason moves have affected Carter’s “fit with the team,” it certainly seems like she’ll fit in somewhere else in 2025.
“According to multiple league sources, the players were unhappy with the dynamic that was created in the locker room last year because of Carter’s behavior, which former coach Teresa Weatherspoon went out of control,” wrote Annie Costabile of the Chicago Sun-Times. “There was concern within the team about how re-signing Carter would affect the Sky’s chances of landing other free agents.”
“Weatherspoon lost the locker room because of a culture that catered to the needs of a few players,” Costabile added, citing league sources.
