Stephen A Smith is scorched earth on the Heat’s Jimmy Butler after his latest suspension

Jimmy Butler was suspended again would the Miami Heatthis time for two games after missing the team’s flight as they headed to Milwaukee to face the Bucks. This is just another story of Butler fighting the Heat because he still wants to be traded from the team.

The next day, Stephen A. Smith had a lot to say about Butler and how he’s dealing with this current situation, and he didn’t hold back.

Jimmy Butlerif you’re watching, you’re not helping yourself, my brother. … This is an extra level on top of being unprofessional. … They had to (trade him),” Smith said.

At this point, Butler seems to be putting himself in a bad position when it comes to trying to trade because other teams can see him moving and don’t want to deal with it. Yet this is how Butler performed on every team at the end of his tenure, and someone still trades for him.

Now, whenever Butler does something that isn’t team friendly, Pat Riley will probably just suspend him, but this can only take so long. Ultimately, the Heat will have to do their best to find a trade partner.

The Heat released a statement regarding Jimmy Butler’s suspension, saying, “We have suspended Jimmy Butler for two games due to a continued pattern of disobeying team rules, unruly conduct and conduct detrimental to the team, including missing today’s team flight to Milwaukee.”

Butler was still scheduled to meet with the team in Milwaukee, but the Heat weren’t having it and made him stay home.

As the tension seems to be building, the Heat are still on the phone trying to trade Butler, and recently they have had productive discussions with teamsaccording to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

“Jimmy Butler tripled his trade request,” Charania told NBA Today. “He did it to Pat Riley’s face, and last week he did it to Mickey Arison, the team’s owner and CEO. I’m told the Heat had some productive conversations this week about a potential Butler trade.

The Phoenix Suns are still rumored to be Butler’s preferred destination, but they have a lot to figure out for a trade to happen. For one thing, Bradley Beal has to waive his no-trade clause, which means he’ll have to be in any deal the Suns want to make to get Butler. The The Suns have yet to speak with Beal on his waiver clause, making it difficult to facilitate a deal.
