Heat’s Jimmy Butler responds to team ban by dating Andrew Schultz

Jimmy Butler he seemed unfazed by his latest suspension from the Miami Heat, choosing instead to enjoy a night out with comedian Andrew Schultz and other celebrities, according to TMZ. Hours after the Heat announced a two-game suspension for missing the team’s flight to Milwaukee, Butler made a surprise appearance at Miami’s draft and Reserve Cup night.

The event, hosted by the Moncaio Ocean Club, brought together stars from sports and entertainment. Butler, who is honorary chairman and co-captain for Miami’s Reserve Cup, has mingled with such notables as NFL player Jerry Jewdy and entrepreneur Wayne Boich. Despite his absence from the team flight, Butler seemed relaxed and cheerful, smiling for photos and chatting with guests.

“He was in a great mood, talking about sports and showing his love for padel,” said one participant. Schultz even joked about Butler’s issues with Heath, telling the crowd, “If anyone asks, he wasn’t here. He was at the Heat facility for practice.” The crowd burst into laughter, echoing the carefree tone of the night.

Tensions rise between Butler and the Heat

Butler’s suspension underscores ongoing friction with the Heat organization. According to a statement from the team, the ban stemmed from “persistent disobedience of team rules” and missing a flight to Milwaukee. This is not the first time Butler has faced disciplinary action. Just last month, he served a seven-game suspension for similar behavior.

The tension between Butler and the Heat dates back to last summer when team president Pat Riley criticized Butler for commenting on Miami’s playoff loss to Boston despite sitting out with an injury. Since then, the relationship has soured, with Butler reportedly requesting a trade after the team declined to offer him a contract extension.

While Jimmy Butler’s off-the-court activities suggest he remains unfazed, the Heat’s attitude points to deeper issues that may need to be addressed. With the Miami Reserve Cup underway and Butler’s status as co-captain, his focus appears to be split between his love of competition and his professional commitments.
