Boston Celtics Sign Chief Coach Joe Mazzulla in a multi-year extension
Boston Celtics President Brad Stevens said during offseass that the team wanted Joe Mazzulla to be a long coach.
It made more than a proclamation on Friday, announcing that Mazzulla signed a multi-annual expansion of the contract. The length and details of the new contract are not published.
In the statement, Mazzulla called his new pact with the “Blessing” team.
“I wouldn’t be here without my faith, my wife and my kids,” Mazzulla said. “We are grateful to partnership with our ownership groups, the Brad’s mentoring and supporting our staff. I am grateful to players I managed to train in the last three seasons. I look forward to competition for Celtic and the city of Boston.”
Mazzulla, 37, comes out its third season as Boston’s coach and leads to the team to playoffs every season, including 18. Franchise NBA Title for CAP season 2023-24. He was the youngest chief coach for winning the NBA final from the season 1968-69, when the 35-year-old Bill Russell cited Celtics on the championship as a player’s coach.
Under Mazzullu, Celtici won at least 57 games each of these seasons and topped 60 wins in each of the last two.
