Lakers’ Anthony Davis has given up on honest recognition for life after LeBron James

The Los Angeles Lakers understand that LeBron James he is getting closer to retirement, and the star is a great man Anthony Davis found that they were preparing for life without him.

Davis appeared in an exclusive one-on-one interview with ESPN Shams Charania which was uploaded to YouTube on Friday. They discussed several topics such as The Lakers’ response to the fires going on in Los Angeleshow Davis views his performances this season and how the Lakers are growing with first-year head coach JJ Redick.

Charania asked Davis about the Lakers’ plans once James decides to retire from the NBA, in which the Lakers star he responded by saying that the transition is already underway.

“I think we’re already moving on to that.” That’s what JJ kind of stepped in and kind of did. Like yeah, I want to coach LeBron, but I want to coach AD and now that transition has happened. Like okay AD, you’re the center, you’re the focus of our attack. Bronn is obviously going to Bronn, but I think that transition is already happening,” Davis said at 2:31 p.m.

“At the same time, for me it’s a mindset like you have to dominate every game, you have to take over.” Bron won’t be here, and you come in and have a bad night, how can you find ways to win a basketball game even though you didn’t shoot the ball well.”

The NBA has revealed the starters for the 2025 All-Star Game and The Lakers are in, and LeBron James gets the pick.

It marked James’ 21st consecutive All-Star selection of his career, a testament to his longevity as one of the best players in the NBA. He finished third in Western Conference All-Star voting behind Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets and Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors.

However, Anthony Davis was not a starter this year. Jokic and Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant filled the remaining frontcourt spots, as Davis would likely be a backup for the West All-Star roster.

James and Davis have provided solid results for the Lakers as they compete for a playoff spot. The team is 24-18, holding the fifth seed in the West while trailing the Nuggets by three games.

The Lakers have four games left in January, against the Warriors on Saturday, the Charlotte Hornets on January 27, the Philadelphia 76ers on January 28 and the Washington Wizards on January 30.
