Tyler Hero’s injury promise will drive fans
MIAMI – S Miami Heat star Tyler Hero is dealing with foot and ankle injuries that will keep him out for the start of the season, he would use Wednesday night to give an update that will likely get fans excited for the upcoming season. While fans lock theirs bold predictions for the 2025-26 seasonHerro will no doubt be a big contributor, looking to build on his impressive last year.
While Hero looks to further improve after becoming a first-time All-Star last season, he will be out for the start of the season, and his return date is still up in the air, though mid-November seems likely. Despite the uncertain schedule, he would say before the public fight in Miami that he would “return sooner rather than later.”
“Super excited. I just have to keep rehabbing, I’ll be back sooner rather than later,” Herro said when asked about his excitement for the season ahead of the “red, white and pink game,” which raises awareness for breast cancer.

Hero has been optimistic about the recovery process, even saying at media day on Sept. 29 that he told head coach Erik Spoelstra that would be back in six weeks, instead of the official deadline of eight to 12 weeks he was told.
“I’m doing everything I can to get back on the court and be available. I can’t wait to get back out there and play,” Herro said.
“Right now, honestly, I’m ahead of schedule as far as swelling and things like that,” Herro continued. “All that stuff looks amazing. I’m supposed to get the stitches out in the next couple of days, sometime next week. From there I can start strengthening my foot and all that good stuff. So I’m doing everything I can to get back to eight weeks.”
Warmth Norman Powell to be a top offensive option with Tyler Hero injured

With the trouble the team is in, Heat rookie Norman Powell will likely replace Herro as the ultimate offensive option in an attempt to keep the ship afloat. Already showing his goals in the preseason, it could be deja vu for the 31-year-old, who did the same to Kawhi Leonard when he missed the start of the season last season.
“Yeah, sure. But also, I think, relying on those guys“These guys have been here,” Powell said of the steps needed before he can play like normal. “They know the system, they know how to play. So just, you know, trusting those guys, letting them be the players that they are, but also being vocal and where I see things, how can we get better, how can we take our game to the next level, everybody on the floor, everybody coming into the game, I think that’s what I’m emphasizing more during this training camp.”
“Like I know people want me to score, they want to see good numbers and everything I put up last year,” Powell continued. “I know that’s going to come when the regular season comes. But it’s all about getting into a rhythm, getting into a flow, getting everybody involved and feeling comfortable and good about how we want to play offensively and defensively.”

Either way, it remains to be seen how much time Hero will miss as the regular season begins on Oct. 22 when Miami plays the Orlando Magic.
