In Charlotte, Miles Bridges hopes to set the tone for the rebuild

After two underwhelming outings, Miles Bridges he used more playing time to deliver a much stronger performance against Dallas than Memphis. This gives 20 points and 11 rebounds against the Mavericks before 29 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists against the Grizzlies.

“Even in the preseason, I’m trying to get stronger for the regular season, to create good habits very quickly so that during the season it becomes second nature.”, comments player Charlotte.

What would be these good habits to adopt? “Simply influence the team to win. I want to contribute to the victories this year”he answers. “Do what you have to do: defend, get rebounds, score. I can do it all. But the most important thing is to help the team in the right way.”

It’s a classic line from almost every player before every season, but, visibly, the Hornets wing has matched his words with action.

His coach is “very proud” of his summer work

“For starters, I liked his defensive intentions. He is much more focused this year on increasing his effort.”analyzes Charles Lee. “The last match, with several changes in the defense, showed an evolution, that he was very active. He wants to make an effort to help his teammates, while being good at carrying the ball and physical impact.”

The coach also praised the reading of Miles Bridges in the attack. “He wants to pass the ball, run without the ball”he adds. “And we focused on that: Can we punish teams by taking advantage of mismatches, if we run, or if things change defensively?”

A bit like his teammate Collin Sexton (“He and I are in the top 3 players with the most matches without playing in the playoffs”), gives an example to young hornets.

“His efforts at both ends of the court help the group. It sets the tone.”summarizes his coach. “It’s contagious when you have someone like that. I’m very proud of the effort Myles has put in during the offseason and training camp. It’s good to see him play well this preseason.”
