Egor Demin he used the Nets’ final preseason game to take his first steps in Brooklyn colors. Against the Raptors, 8. selection of the last draft he was not in the starting five, because Jordi Fernandes prefers that his young leader gradually returns to the field. Egor Demin finished the game with 14 points in 19 minutes, shooting 3/5 and 2/3 from distance, 5 rebounds, assists and blocks, but it was not enough to prevent Brooklyn from losing (119-114) on the floor of the Raptors against the great Scotty Barnes.

He may need time to adjust to the physicality of a point guard, but once he does, he’s going to be really, really, really good.”
A foot fault that raises questions
Egor Demin’s physique has been a source of questions throughout the Nets’ offseason. Suffering from foot inflammation during Summer League, he was unable to play in the final game in Las Vegas and did not participate in Nets training camp. The leader was only allowed to resume five-on-five basketball during the trip to Macau for two games against the Suns.
“It’s an injury that has gotten worse over time.” explains Yegor Demin. “It started pretty early since it was already there during the ‘training’ for the draft, but after that it evolved into something different. It’s going to take some time to get it all out, but as long as it’s not serious, I’m ready to play.”
