The Wolves secure the Dillingham-Shannon Jr. duo until 2027

By tradition, prior to the start of each NBA season, various franchises may or may not activate the options they have on their players’ rookie contracts. Like the Spurs with Victor Vembanyama etc Stephen CastleThe Wolves also retain the duo Rob Dillingham – Terence Shannon Jr. until the end of the 2026-27 season as announced by the Minnesota franchise in a press release.
Rob Dillingham will therefore receive $6.9 million during the third season of his rookie contract. After a freshman year in which he played just 49 games and averaged 4.5 points and 2 assists in 11 minutes, the young leader’s role could be more important this season. The former Kentucky player enjoyed his summer work with Mike Conley on his playmaking ability, but also on his shot selection.
Two players expected
As for Terence Shannon Jr., he will receive $2.8 million through the 2026-27 season. The Chicago native had a difficult first year in the NBA where he was only able to participate in 32 games in 11 minutes of action. In the playoffs, he managed to show more in a match of 13 points in 15 minutes against OKC in the conference finals.
Chris Finch began to give him more playing time during the preseason where he excelled from behind the arc shooting an impressive 64% from 3-point range. The last one is therefore logical more anticipated this seasonespecially fill departure from Nickeil Alexander-Walkerheaded for Atlanta.
For these two players, the upcoming season will therefore be very important as they will already be eligible for contract extensions from next summer.
