Carson Wentz appears on TNF’s injury report along with JJ McCarthy


Carson Wentz he just happens to be dealing with some injury issues before Minnesota Vikings Week 8 game vs. Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday night.

Wentz has held the starting quarterback duties ever since JJ McCarthy fell with an ankle injury. The veteran quarterback has helped Minnesota stay afloat after four starts, with a 2-2 record.

However, his last contest against the Philadelphia Eagles forced him to suffer a left shoulder injury. He and McCarthy both have limited participation status on Monday, according to NFL insider Tom Pelliser.

“#Vikings QBs JJ McCarthy (ankle) and Carson Wentz (left shoulder) are both listed as limited on today’s injury assessment report ahead of Thursday night’s game against the Chargers,” Pelissero wrote.

Team reporter Alec Lewis went further into the injury report. He showed a list of reportswhich features Andrew Van Ginkel and Xavier Scott among others.

What’s next for Carson Wentz, Vikings

The Vikings are in a tough situation with injuries to Carson Wentz and JJ McCarthy.

Wentz has been solid in his four starts, completing 95 of 142 attempts for 1,072 yards and five touchdowns and four interceptions. His efforts helped Minnesota beat the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns while suffering losses to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles.

McCarthy has been out since the second week of the season. In his two starts, the sophomore quarterback has completed 24 of 41 attempts for 301 yards and two touchdowns and three interceptions.

Minnesota has a 3-3 record on the season, sitting at the bottom of the NFC North division standings. They are currently following the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers. As for the NFC standings, they are 12th.

The Vikings will continue their preparations for the Week 8 matchup against the Chargers. The contest will take place on October 23rd at 8:15 PM ET.
