Docsuffer at the same timeThe Pacers will have less to worry about at the outside positions as they decided to extend Aaron Nesmith, who became the team’s CEO after a very good playoff run. According to ESPNIndiana’s 3-and-D has agreed to a two-year, $40.4 million extension. Everything is accompanied by a “trade”, which is the equivalent of a transfer bonus.
This is the maximum that Nesmith, whose contract expires in 2027, could ask for, and it rewards a great season in which he finished with averages of 12 points and 4 rebounds, but very nice “50/40/90” with 50.7% on shots, 43.1% on threes and 91.3% on free throws.Unfortunately, Nesmith did not hit enough free throws for this “50/40/90” to be confirmed.
But especially in the playoffs, the former Boston player reached a turning point. Often tasked with defending against the opposition’s best outside players – such as Jalen Williams, Jalen Brunson or Giannis Antetokounmpo – Nesmith also shined from long range, shooting a blistering 49.2% from 3-point range in the playoffs. According to ESPN, this is easily the best percentage ever recorded in a playoff campaign for a player to post 100 or more tackles.
