DeMar DeRozan posts full NSFV on people sleeping in Sacramento

The 2025-26 NBA season is about to begin, a Sacramento Kings they are again looking to join the postseason party in the Western Conference. Unfortunately, there aren’t many who are optimistic about the Kings’ chances of making the playoffs once again. Domantas Sabonis will miss out the start of the season due to injury, so will Keegan Murray. Moreover, fans are not very optimistic about the mix of talent in the team which has been further complicated addition of Russell Westbrook.

Still, a veteran star DeMar DeRozan he’s simply using all that doubt about the Kings as fuel, with the 36-year-old I rarely prove everyone wrong.

“You’ve got to find fuel wherever you can find it. That’s definitely one of them. To see the crap they put out there, you definitely have to fuel off of it, no question,” DeRozan said, via NBC 10’s Kevin John. “Everybody else has to take that personally, too.”

It’s not entirely clear which specific roster DeRozan is referring to, but it’s clear the NBA world isn’t too keen on the Kings’ chances to compete, especially in a loaded Western Conference.

Sabonis’ injury puts the Kings frontcourt in such a difficult position; it looks like one of Drew Eubanks or Dario Saric will start the season as the team’s starting center. Suffice it to say, it’s not a very attractive situation.

Moreover, there is a a huge setback in the Kings backcourt; Westbrook will have to share the ball with Malik Monk and Dennis Schroeder. Zach LaVine will need his touches. DeRozan is at his best when the ball is in his hands.

The Kings’ current roster looks like something a mad scientist decided to cook up, although it looks like DeRozan will do his best to make this concoction work.

Can the Kings figure out their current roster?

Head coach Doug Christie will have his work cut out for him. There are plenty of players available who need the basketball and they don’t have much space on the floor. LaVine and Monk are good three-point shooters, but Schroder, Westbrook and DeRozan are not. This will make for some very strange lineup decisions for Christie, especially with Murray and Sabonis on the mend.

There’s a chance the Kings could finish last in the Pacific Division even amid the Phoenix Suns’ soft reset. This roster has the potential to be very dysfunctional, and only time will tell if they are able to make sense of this strange collection of talent.
