Kevin Durant MVP at 37? DeMarcus Cousins in midseason form

Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant is ready for the upcoming NBA basketball season. At least one former NBA player thinks Durant is more than ready. DeMarcus Cousins says the Rockets star has a good chance to win the MVP this year, despite being 37 years old.
Cousins believes in the Rockets have the right pieces around Durant.
“I think there’s enough talent on this (Rockets) team that Kevin Durant at 37 can win the MVP. I think Kevin Durant can win the MVP this season,” Cousins said.

Cousins made the comments on Run it Back. When pressed by his fellow panelists on whether Durant would get Cousins’ vote, the former Sacramento Kings big man reiterated his stance.
“I think Kevin Durant can win the MVP this season,” Cousins said.
Durant is suiting up in Houston this season after playing the last few years with the Phoenix Suns.
The Rockets’ Kevin Durant shows no signs of stopping
Durant made news in recent days, after he signed a contract extension with the Rockets on Sunday.
“I think we all knew when we traded for him and when he came here it wasn’t a short-term thing,” Houston coach Ime Udoka told NBA.com. “It’s good to get to a point where everyone is happy and hopefully he’ll finish his career here.”
The NBA veteran, who is eighth on the all-time scoring list, previously said he feels at home in Houston.
“Just seeing the rapid progression of this franchise from where it was right after the James Harden-Chris Paul era, seeing when Ime came in here and how he turned it around so quickly … it was organic and natural when I walked into the gym and was a Houston Rocket for the first time,” Durant said.
Time will tell if Cousins’ prediction is correct. Houston kicks off the NBA season against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday evening. Oklahoma City is the defending NBA champion.
