Jimmy Butler sends a strong message to the Dubs in his career
Jimmy Butler is the epitome of a winning playerand thanks to him, Golden State Warriors could have advanced to the 2025 NBA playoffs had it not been for Stephen Curry’s untimely hamstring injury. But the new season is upon us, and Butler now has even more time to integrate into the fabric of the Warriors. What better way to open his first full season with the Dubs than to score 31 points to lead them to a 119-109 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night.
Butler may no longer be a guy who can score night in and night out, but he raises his game against the best competition, which he did against the Lakers. The Warriors’ star forward took advantage of a Lakers defense that was in disarray, as was he scored more than half of his points from the charity stripe (he went 16-16 from the foul line).
And he managed to achieve his the most points in one game in his brief stint with the Dubs so far, as pointed out by Polymarket Hoops on X (formerly Twitter).
Butler knows there is a growing sense of urgency for both him and the Warriors to compete for a championship. He’s not exactly a spring chicken, and both Curry and Draymond Green are improving as well.
Time is ticking for them to win the championship, although in a loaded Western Conference, no team can afford to miss out. The Warriors’ strong start to the year, fueled by Butler’s incredible performance, means they are poised to come close and challenge the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Western Conference supremacy.
Jimmy Butler’s Robin takes center stage while The Warriors’ Batman takes a back seat

Butler knows the Warriors brought him back in February to be Curry’s backup star. He has no illusions of grandeur; he knows his role is to be the best assistant to the Warriors’ GOAT.
But there are nights when Batman just doesn’t go his way, and Robin has to buy some time. That is correct what Butler did for the Warriorsas he was a constant threat to put points on the board all night against a shaky Lakers defense and Curry wasn’t exactly at his best.
The Warriors will now look to continue that on Thursday night as they face the Denver Nuggets for their first matchup.
