Quinn Snyder highlights Dyson Daniels’ ‘unique’ quality

Atlanta The Hawks continued to invest in their futureand they did it until signs Dyson Daniels to a four-year, $100 million extension before the start of the season. With the strides Daniels made last season, that was irrelevant for the Hawks to reach an agreement with the most improved player last season.

Head coach Quinn Snyder has seen the growth of Daniels on the floor as well as on the court. As for his character, Snyder shared some things that make Daniels unique in his own right.

“I think a competitor stands out when you see him play,” Snyder said. “The things he does on the court, I think, demonstrate a unique selflessness. He has a very even demeanor. But you can also see the subtle ways he supports his teammates.”

“At the risk of being too effusive, I think he’s kind to his teammates and he cares, and when you’re around someone who does those things, who you know really puts the group above himself, that’s pretty unique in the world we live in today.”

Being a good man goes a long way, and it’s nice to know that Daniels is one of those people. That said, it was probably more satisfying for the Hawks to sign him for the long haul.

Dyson Daniels is part of the Hawks’ long-term future

Daniels is now part of the Hawks’ long-term future as they continue to grow with the young core they have. Daniel was asked how he felt when he was able to reach an agreement with the team.

“It shows they want me here, and that means a lot to me,” Daniels said. “I want to be here in town, I want to compete with this team, and, I’m excited about what this team is up to and what we have ahead of us. So just to be here, be a part of it, work on the team chemistry. Know that I belong. It feels great, and it’s a weight off my shoulders.”

The Hawks showed they wanted Daniels last offseason when they traded for him with the New Orleans Pelicans. He immediately entered the team and made an impact defensively, and finished the season in the running for Defensive Player of the Year. He continued to grow and improve offensively, which is why he won Most Improved.

Entering this season, the Hawks will want to continue to see his growth, which will make them a much more dangerous team.
