“It’s a shame to start the season like this”
Obviously, it’s only Game 1, but it’s unlikely the Raptors will be betting on a win in Atlanta tonight. While the Hawks are one of the teams to watch on the East Coast this season, Zachary Risacher’s partners have completely thwarted a loss of 20 points in front of your audience!
“I don’t think there’s a lot of positives to take away from tonight,” Trae Young estimates. “It’s a shame to start the season this way. A lot of things come from the pre-season and that obviously continued tonight. We didn’t play as a real five team and it showed in our lack of cohesion on the pitch. But the cream always comes out in the end. We have time to catch up, but we have to start now.”
A very difficult weekend
It is clear that the Hawks completely dominated with 86 points scored, 34 on the counterattack and 20 rebounds less than the Raptors! “It is difficult to win such matches”, Quinn Snyder admitted. “There are a lot of things we have to fix, that’s obvious.”
And we will need quick corrections because the Hawks will be followed by a trip to Orlando, then the reception of the NBA champions, the Thunder. It’s up to Trae Young, as the “franchise player,” to make his mark.
“I still have to figure out how we can play better together.” he recognized Trea Young about rookies like Kristaps Porzingis and Nikhil Alexander-Walker (2 of 15 on shots!) or even Luke Kennard. “Knowing where everybody likes to receive the ball on offense, things like that. We need time to create automaticity. But obviously, we want results right away. It’s a league of, ‘What have you done for me lately?’ So we will do things the right way and everything will be fine. trust me! »
