Jimmy Butler stifles Stephen Curry’s request for ‘Night Night’

Golden State The Warriors were part of two dramatic games but to start the season, and they left with wins in both. Their last was against the Denver Nuggets, as they went to overtime to win 137-131. With 40 seconds left, the Warriors were up by six points after the big three.
“Jimmy hits a huge 3. Steph tries to make him shoot a night — Jimmy gets back on defense — Warriors get another stop and another Steph bucket. Chase roars. Warriors players shine on floor. Group confidence high,” wrote Nick Friedel on X, formerly Twitter.
After the game, Curry said he hoped Butler would do a “night-night” celebration, but he never did.
“I was hoping he would give it back to me, but he left me on an island,” Curry said. “Draymond hit one last year, so I thought I could share the honor. Big shot to seal it.”

Butler was probably thinking too much about trying to finish the game, and he knows the Nuggets are a good team and could make things interesting in a heartbeat. Knowing that Kari wants him to participate, he might celebrate after another dagger.
Warriors find new lineup in vin vis. Nuggets
Down in the game, The warriors deployed a new line-up from Curry, Butler, Jonathan Cummings, Draymond Green and Al Horford. It was a lineup that didn’t have any reps together in the season, but they were able to figure out how to work together and get a win.
“It was during a timeout. Terry (Stotts) suggested it, Chris DeMarco suggested it, too,” Kerr said, via Kenzo Fukuda of ClutchPoints.
“They just thought with Steph (Curry) going with Jimmy (Butler) there, we were going to score,” Kerr continued. “That was my biggest concern: Can we execute? And they just reminded me that we have Steph and Jimmy and they’re going to find a way to score. And they did. It was fantastic to watch a defense with that size and length.”
That lineup could be considered a new version of the “lineup of death” that many people remember when Kevin Durant was with the team. If that lineup can continue to perform on both sides of the ball, that could be something Kerr pulls out more often.
