Miami’s Bam Adebayo describes a “strange” aura after Terry Rozier’s arrest
With the reaction of the sports world to Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier has been arrested by the FBI as part of the gambling investigation, along with others, the fan base and team had to deal with the impact of it. As Heat coach Erik Spoelstra wants to move his team forward from the situation while sending empathy to the guard, Rosie’s teammates, as Bam Adebayo and others, sent their support.
Rozzi’s arrest came the morning after Miami’s 125-121 loss to the Orlando Magic, which put the 31-year-old on immediate leave from the NBA. Adebayo would talk about Rozier after Friday’s shootaround, saying the team has “full support” for him and even mentioned how “strange” it was that I didn’t see himaccording to The Miami Herald.
“You never want something like that to happen,” Adebayo said. “For us, as a team, we’re behind him, full support. And like I said, the biggest thing for us is to keep praying for him, rooting for him behind the scenes and coming out here to win and change the narrative.”
“You support him, all the way,” Adebayo continued. “That’s our brother at the end of the day. It was kind of weird that he wasn’t here, actually, because he’s usually the first person I talk to in the morning, and he brings that great energy to our team. So, for us, that elevates that, and also playing through the noise.”
The Heat held a team meeting Thursday to discuss the Terry Rozier situation

While it is Recovery after a heavy defeat against the Magic in the opening gamethere’s no denying that news of Rozier’s arrest threw the team for a loop. Spoelstra said Friday that the team had a meeting Thursday to discuss the situation with Nikola Jovic giving insight into the conversation and how “great a person” Rozier is and how much the team adores him.
“We were just keeping it simple,” Jovic said. “Spo told us what happened and what it was going to look like, and that’s it. I just feel like we have to be on the same page and know exactly what’s going on, so that’s it.”
“We are in this together,” continued Jovic. “Terry’s a great person and we all love him, and we’re with him. We’re going to help him as much as we can. But I can’t say it’s easy, I can’t say it’s hard, but we just have to stick together and continue to do this, I guess, without him for a while. But we’re with him and we love him and we can support him in any way we can.”
If anything is certain, the team has Rozier’s back because more players on the Heat, like Davion Mitchell and Jaime Jaquez Jr., expressed their own support.
Miami looks for its first win of the season on Friday night when it takes on the Memphis Grizzlies.
