Bam Adebayo does his best Stephen Curry impression with a 4-pointer in the first quarter

Bam Adebayo did his best Stephen Curry impression during Miami Heat vs. Memphis Grizzlies game on Friday night.

Adebayo entered his ninth year in the NBA, all with the Heat. This season is different because he will be the focal point on both sides of the ball, a bigger role than he has had in previous years. He had a rusty start to the season, with 15 points and 12 rebounds on 30.8% shooting against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night.

The star big man made a big splash in the second game. He knocked down four shots from behind the arcall in the first quarter. Considering how sporadic he can be with the 3-point shot on a game-by-game basis, this was definitely a Curry moment for him.

It was a random burst from downtown for Bam Adebayo, who led the Heat to a dominant 146-114 victory over the Grizzlies. They improved to 1-1 with a win, their first of the year.

Miami torched Memphis’ defense in the first half, scoring 44 in the first quarter and 42 in the second. They held onto the lead and never looked back, eventually securing the win with a large lead throughout the night.

Rebounding and shooting at the rim played a major role in the match. The Heat dominated in both categories as they grabbed 57 rebounds and knocked down 19 3-pointers. That was not the case with the Grizzlies, who grabbed 42 rebounds and made 13 3-pointers.

Eight players scored in double figures for Miami, including Adebayo. He finished with 24 points, five rebounds, four assists and a steal. He shot 8-of-19 from the field, including 4-of-8 from downtown, and 4-of-4 from the free throw line. It’s Nikola Jovic’s turn with 20 points and six rebounds, Kelel Ware had 19 points and nine rebounds, while Jaime Jacques Jr. had 17 points and 10 rebounds. Norman Powell had 15 points and six rebounds, and Simon Fontecchio had 14 points and four rebounds.

The Heat will be looking forward to their next match, as it will be at home. They host the New York Knicks on October 26th at 6pm ET.
