Bo Bichette is getting a chance to play in a pivotal World Series 3 game against the Dodgers
Entering 2025 World Series, Bo Bichette was under repair for Toronto Blue Jays as he worked to recover from a sprained knee that kept him out for more than a month. But right after the Blue Jays swept the Seattle Mariners in the ALCS, Bichette declared that he would return against the Los Angeles Dodgers. That’s exactly what he did, just like him started the Blue Jays’ 11-4 win in Game 1 of the World Series, going 1-2 at the plate with one walk before Isiah Kiner-Falefa pinch ran for him.
Bichette, however, is still being held in kid gloves by the Blue Jays. He was out of the starting line-up for game 2, Kiner-Falefa started in his place, and he ended up pinch-hitting for him in the seventh inning. Maybe Toronto is still wary of his injured knee and just wasn’t willing to immediately throw him into the fire for two high-stakes games.
But in Game 3, the Blue Jays won’t play sweet. The manager John Schneider revealed that Bichet will start for the team at second base on Monday as Toronto seeks to regain control series, according to MLB.com’s Arden Zwelling.
Bichet, for what it’s worth, is the team’s regular starter at shortstop, so him being at second base is already a sign that the Blue Jays are slowly bringing him along. But when the stakes are this high, especially against the Dodgers with perhaps the deepest starting rotation in MLB, they they can’t afford to let Bichet’s bat fail.
Barring anything unforeseen, the Blue Jays will face Tyler Glasnow to start Game 3 against the Dodgers, while relying on Max Schetzer to give them at least a few quality innings.
Can the Blue Jays’ offense wake up against the Dodgers’ elite starting pitching?

The key for the Blue Jays in the World Series is to get to the Dodgers’ bullpen. In Game 1, they did well to shut out Blake Snell after scoring five runs on him. After doing so, they scored six more goals — with LA’s post proving as unreliable as ever.
But in Game 2, the Dodgers got another complete game from Yamamoto. The Blue Jays must make sure they don’t let Glasnow get into a groove and get manager Dave Roberts going if they want to win Game 3 on Monday night.
