In Indiana, Mac McClung (finally) gets a real contract

This time is right for Mac McClung. Despite winning the slam dunk contest three times (2023, 2024 and 2025), he was constantly chasing a standard NBA contractexcept that it attracted only “two-way contracts,” ten-day tryouts or training camp invitations.
More ESPN announces that the 26-year-old player is joining Pacers. His contract is certainly not 100% guaranteed, but it is already a small victory for him, who has not been able to find his way in the big leagues for a long time. Plays mostly in the G-League: 19.8 points, 5.5 assists and 4.3 rebounds in his career.
After going through the Bulls, Lakers, Sixers, then the Magic since 2021, Mac McClung has played just six small games in the NBA (averaging 5.5 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists). UIndianahe should get a chance to prove himself while the team is currently without Tyrese Halliburton, Andrew Nembhardt, TJ McConnell, Benedict Maturin, Cam Jones, Johnny Furfee and Thelon Peter at the 1/2 positions!
Note that on the Pacers side it is James Wiseman who pays the price for the arrival of the current dunk king. Drafted No. 2 in 2020, he just returned from a ruptured Achilles tendon, but his contract wasn’t fully guaranteed in Indianapolis. So it’s a cheap sacrifice for the reigning NBA finalists.
