For Tree Young, it’s a moment of truth with the Hawks
Eligible for contract extension for a period of time, Trae Young however nothing signed with the hawks and the All-Star leader will have to prove he can lead this Atlanta team to the heights of a wide-open Eastern Conference, especially after injuries Tyrese Halliburton in Indiana and Jayson Tatum in Boston.
“He has really reached a turning point in terms of leadership” noticed Mr. Okongwu during the training camp. “He tries to encourage everybody. We have a really young team, so he tries to be the one to lead the kids and speak for the guys in the locker room.”
In addition to Tree Young’s vocal presence in the locker room, the Hawks will need results to confirm their marriage to the 27-year-old leader.
The “front office” is thus activated during the flight by arrival Nickeil Alexander-Walker or Luke Kennardbut especially that of Kristaps Porzingis. The Latvian arrives in Atlanta so that Trae Young will have less responsibility on offense, which should allow the Hawks to have more varied offensive schemes.
Big boost with Kristaps Porzingis
To integrate into his new team, former Celtics interior he wants to build on the experience he had in Dallas alongside Luka Doncic.
“To be honest, they both do the same thing, but their physical appearance is different” Remark Kristaps Porzingis. “They are experts when it comes to reading the game and predicting what’s going to happen. My experience with Luke will really help me. I was able to talk to Trea about what he likes, where he likes to get the ball and how I can help make his life easier.”
“I think you’re going to see all the things I can do with a guy that can stretch the game.” emphasizes Trae Young. “I should have more shots this year, something a lot of people think I can’t do.”
Victory as a Justice of the Peace
To help the Hawks achieve the best record possible, Tree Young says he’s willing to do less to let his teammates shine. A philosophy already seen last season, a practice during which he saw the leader of Atlanta his scoring average go under 25 points for the first time since his rookie season.
“I’m ready to pass the ball, but for that you have to have teammates who want to create play and who can attract attention when they have the ball in their hands” explains Trae Young. “I think that’s what we have now.”
With the return from Jalen Johnson which continues to gain momentum season after season, the arrival of Kristaps Porzingis and a young core of supporting players Zachary Risacher or Dyson DanielsThe Hawks have serious elements to avoid “playing in” and finally make it to the playoffs. And thus confirm the continuation of their adventure with Treo Young at the helm?
The person concerned is in fact aware that they are not his rights of reply to Patrick Beverley which will change his reputation as a gifted player but unable to unite around himself. But good wins.
