Matas Bouzelis has named a surprise Hall of Famer he wants to emulate

Already three games into the season and Matas Buzelis it leaves an impression on Chicago Bulls. He is averaging 12.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game as the Bulls are off to a 3-0 start.

On Monday, they came back from a 13-point deficit to beat the Atlanta Hawks 128-123. Bouzelis finished with a total of 16 points, five rebounds and three assists.

As the season unfolds, Bouzelis set high goals for myself. His roaring confidence has him aiming for the NBA MVP award in his second season.

Recently, Bouzelis outplayed the player he wanted to follow him Tracy McGradysteps, according to DJ Siddiqui of RG.org. Basically, Bouzelis said he didn’t necessarily follow the team, but was drawn to McGrady’s style.

“I was a guy who watched a lot of players,” says Bouzelis of McGrady. “I like Tracy McGrady.”

Plus, Bouzelis connected his fandom to that of the current NBA landscape. In other words, it’s more about the players than the team.

“I think the younger generation now are fans of our fans of certain players, not teams in particular,” he said. “I was the guy who watched everything, and I would steal things from everybody.

Much like Buzzellis, McGrady was 6 feet tall. Overall, he became a seven-time NBA All-Star and leading scorer. He played for the Toronto Raptors, Orlando Magic and Houston Rockets.

He was a high-scoring, fast-paced player who was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017. Bouzelis brings a similar sense of urgency, speed and spirit.

Tracy McGrady could play for the Bulls

After the end of the Bulls’ dynasty in the 1990s, the organization began a steep decline. However, on two occasions they could grabbed McGrady.

In 1997, then-GM Jerry Krause wanted to trade Scottie Pippen and recruit McGrady out of Mount Zion Christian Academy in Durham, North Carolina. Although the long-held belief was that Michael Jordan prevented it, it was Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf who decided against it.

Eventually, the Toronto Raptors drafted him.

Three years later, the Bulls offered McGrady after he became a free agent. Instead, he signed with the Orlando Magic.

2010. Chicago took the last step to get McGrady. However, he stopped short of knee surgery, and concerns about his health and limited playing time diminished his chances.
