Brandon Miller seeks second opinion on injury
As Charlotte Hornets forward Brandon Miller has a shoulder injury causing him to miss Sunday’s game against the Washington Wizards, the star’s next steps have just been revealed. While it is The Hornets star suffered a shoulder injury against the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday, the latest report from Chris Haynes will worry fans a bit.
According to Haynes, Miller is “I’m looking for a second opinion” as for his shoulder, as the plan was for the team to reevaluate it when Charlotte returns home from the current trip, with the final game being Tuesday against the Miami Heat. One would speculate that perhaps the reason for seeking a second opinion is that surgery might be on the table, but that is speculation.
“League sources have informed me that Brandon Miller is seeking a second opinion right now, because that can give you a sense of where things are right now,” Haynes told NBA TV. “So the Hornets plan to reevaluate Miller when the team returns from their trip, which will be the middle of this week. And so I think at that point, Brandon Miller will know more about the second opinion and where to go next.”

Chris Hayes keeps it real on Hornets’ Brandon Miller

In Miller’s absence against the Wizards, the star LaMelo Ball had a triple-double for the Hornets in preparation for the win, scoring 38 points, dishing out 13 assists and grabbing 13 rebounds. Hayes would admit that whenever a player gets a second opinion, “it doesn’t always go well for your status advancement.”
“Again, I don’t want to speculate, but yeah, anytime you get second and third opinions, it doesn’t always go well for your status moving forward. So, you know, we’ll wait and see,” Hayes said.
If Miller were to have shoulder surgery, one would think it could be season-ending, although Hayes would not entirely agree, as it depends on the “right diagnosis” and it’s also very early in the season.
“Potentially, but again, you want to wait and see what the true diagnosis is, and wait to see ultimately what they decide to do,” Hayes said.
Either way, it remains to be seen how much time Miller will continue to miss, as more information will likely be released after Charlotte’s current trip is over.
