Giannis Antetokounmpo reveals motivation to beat Knicks after trade rumors surface

Giannis Antetokounmpo and The Milwaukee Bucks got their first win over the New York Knicks from the 2023-24 season. The Bucks beat the Knicks 121-11 after the Greek Freak had 37 points, eight assists and seven rebounds.
The win is extra special considering that Giannis has been linked to New York all offseason. That, and the fact that they suffered a 3-0 defeat in the 2024-25 campaign.
“I don’t remember that. I’m here right now representing my team, and that’s it. We beat the Knicks. So it doesn’t matter,” he said, claiming he wasn’t even paying attention to reports that link it Nix, according to PFN.
Giannis still remembers how the Knicks held off his Bucks last season: “The Knicks didn’t just sweep us. They beat us really well. This year is different.”

“The Knicks didn’t just sweep us. They beat us really well. This year is different,” Giannis told New York Daily News reporter Christian Winfield.
Giannis has been a constant subject of trade rumors, with the Knicks just one of the teams linked to the Milwaukee talisman. However, they are said to be the frontrunners in case Antetokounmpo does indeed leave.
And while trade rumors might have been expected to make this win extra special for the Bucks, Giannis is instead locked in for at least the current campaign, and he’ll be thrilled with how the win came.
Ryan Rollins had a game-high 25 points and four steals. The only other Bucks star to score in double figures was Gary Trent Jr., who scored 11 points.
On the other hand, Jaylen Brunson led the Knicks with 36 points, but appeared to injure his leg midway through the fourth. Mikal Bridges scored 24 points as the Milwaukee bench outscored the Knicks bench 34-18.
Karl-Anthony Towns struggled throughout the game, going 2-for-11 from the field despite grabbing 12 rebounds. The win means the Bucks started the season 3-1.
They will now take on the Golden State Warriors at the Fiserv Forum before taking on the Sacramento Kings.
