Steve Kerr’s “story” of the Clippers’ downfall came about because of his bold strategy

As it is The Golden State Warriors defeated the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night, 98-79, an interesting development in the game was a change in the starting lineup. With A dominant start to the season by the Warriorshead coach Steve Kerr talks about what was the biggest highlight of the win over the Clippers.

In a relatively low key game, Golden State would lead Jimmy Butler and Stephen Currywho had 21 and 19 points, but the change in the starting line-up would be Quinten Post instead of Bradnin Poziemski. In the game, Post would record 12 points and eight rebounds, recording a +34 on the floor, which caught the attention of Kerr, who said the 25-year-old was the best “game story”, according to 95.7 The Game.

“KP (Post) was the story of the game,” Kerr said. “Fearless outside, hit great shots, played great defense. Couldn’t be happier for him or for us because Quintin went late in the second round about a year and a half ago, he’s turning into a really great player.”

Warriors’ Steve Kerr on how the lineups will look different

Doc Butler and the Warriors make things look easy to start the season, their rotations are ones to watch as, in addition to starting either Post or Podziemski, Kerr would mention how the rookie usage Al Horford would be. It looks like it will depend on the matchup for Kerr, who will likely go with Post against the big men.

“This is going to be a pattern for us,” Kerr said. “I really just want to get Al (Horford) off the bench. If it’s going to be 20 minutes, 20 to 25 minutes, I’d rather have him come off the bench and be able to close with him if we need to, like we did against Denver. So we’ll probably go back and forth between Quentin and BP (Brandin Podziemski, just depending on what the matchup is at center right now).

“I thought BP was great,” Kerr continued. “I didn’t play him enough in the first half. I think I only got him out for nine minutes and we missed his play. So I’ve got to do a better job of what we did in the second half, which is finding lineups that can make a little more playmaking.”

Either way, Golden State is off to a 4-1 start and looks to continue that Thursday night against the Milwaukee Bucks.
