Jalen Green had a shutout against the Grizzlies, but there’s a catch
A week before the regular season, The Phoenix Suns announced that Jaylen Green will miss the season opener with a hamstring injury. He was originally scheduled to be evaluated within 10 days, prompting him to miss the first game.
However, he missed the next three. Still, there is reason for hope after what head coach Jordan Ott said during his pregame press conference on Wednesday.
The last one mentioned was Green from day to day with his hamstring injury. This is the first time this season that he has been listed as day-to-day. It was even more surprising that Green was questioned when the injury report dropped on Tuesday.
Regardless, The Suns will still miss his explosiveness and heavy shooting. He looks to be an ideal complement next to Devin Booker, a terrific scorer in his own right.
Now the team will have to wait a little longer until Green makes his season debut.
The Suns are eagerly awaiting the return of Jalen Green from injury

He wasn’t the only one on that injury report. Dillon Brooks joined him with right groin pain. The latter missed Monday’s game against the Utah Jazz, another significant blow.
The injury problem seems to be hitting the team early compared to last season. Even so, the Suns struggled well without two of their most influential players, outside of Booker.
Ott even elaborated what does the star guardian feel.
“Jalen wants to play basketball. He was born to play basketball and he’s such a competitive, positive person,” Ott said, via Shane Young of Suns.com. “When he doesn’t get to do what he wants, there will be frustration and that’s normal for the guys I’ve been with.”
“But we also know we have to be smart with this and it’s an 82-game season. He wants to get out there in a Suns uniform, hopefully soon.”
Either way, he’ll rest with Green’s injury. Ott described it as a soft tissue injury, making it difficult to properly diagnose.
Rushing him back would reset the progress he’s made and limit when the team really needs him. The phrase “slow and steady wins the race” may not be fun, but that’s the race the Suns are running with Green until he’s fully ready to go.
