Steve Kerr hits back at Michael Jordan’s old school
As it is The Golden State Warriors lost to the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night, 120-110, came without the opponent having star Giannis Antetokounmpo. While some might consider it to be The Warriors dominated with players like Jimmy Butler and Stephen Curryamong other things, it cannot be denied that the conversation around load management is present.
Most recently, a basketball legend Michael Jordan he would say that load management is not required in a recent interview with NBC, but Golden State’s head coach Steve Kerr would take issue with that point. While I understand the position, he would talk about the players he has on his team, like Curry, Butler, and even Draymond Green and Al Horford.
“For us, our top four guys are 35-39 years old,” Kerr said, according to The Athletic . “Now we have performance teams. When I played with the Bulls, we had one coach and one weight coach. And now we have a ton of data (from) our performance team, which is about 10 people.”
“They advise me when our guys are more injury-prone,” Kerr continued. “I believe in these things. I believe in science and I believe in getting players healthy for the playoffs. And if you can try to get there, and that means resting guys on the road, then I’m all for it, because it counts come playoff time. I don’t think there’s any exact data that can predict every injury, but I think we can see that we can see a pattern navigate through the season.”
Steve Kerr of the Warriors on an 82-game schedule

With The Warriors are off to a dominant start in the season, despite losing to the Bucks, Kerr would be asked how defense plays in this era. Speaking of which, he mentioned how teams operate differently in an 82-game schedule, especially with all the travel.
“This will be our sixth game in 10 games in four cities. The next 10, I think eight are on the road. When all is said and done, from our first 15 games, I think it will come in 26 days in 10 different cities,” Kerr said. ” Asking our players to sprint, whether it’s full court pressure, whether it’s handling it, or applying it, running to the 3-point line, covering 3-point shooters, and then playing at this pace is dramatically different than it was 20 years ago.
Either way, Golden State is 4-2 as the team takes on the Indiana Pacers on Saturday.
