According to information from ESPNthe suspension came after Grizzlies coach Tuomas Iisalo questioned Ja Morant’s leadership and effort during a postgame exchange following a loss to the Lakers. Objections to which Ja Morant would respond in a tone deemed inappropriate.
This suspension will cost Ja Morant $271,042, or 1/145 of his $39 million salary.
But now his future in Tennessee in particular is at stake, as the 2025/26 season has just begun, and the club will not be able to sustain a campaign with a star and a coach in conflict.
