This first success of the Pacers against the Warriors is, above all, collective victory. Pascal Sakak secured from the top of his 27 points and Quenton Jackson knew how to organize the game with his ten assists without losing a single ball while being decisive at the end of the match. However, he stood out the most during this confrontation Aaron Nesmiththe author of 31 points, the best in his career, when shooting 10/19 and 5/11 from distance.
From the start of the match, it was he who launched the Pacers by opening the scoring with a long shot. In the first half, he walked on water with 18 points, including four shots from behind the arc.
“Aaron will remain Aaron,” recalls Pascal Siakam. “He’s going to keep playing hard no matter what. Of course, it’s good to see him make his shots. He had a hot hand and we kept looking for him. He made some tough shots and kept us in the game.”
The sights finally adjusted
In the second half, the former Celtic came up with five straight points, including his fifth and final long-range shot of the night, to give the Pacers the lead again in the third quarter. In the rest of the match, he let his teammates shine, even if he scored four points in the last act and reached the 30 point mark for the third time in his career.
Shooting 10/19 and 5/11 from distance, Aaron Nesmith turned in a successful performance that belied the complicated start to the season he’s experienced so far. In the first five matches in this 2025/26 campaign, the winger lacked skill and achieved just 29% shooting success (18/62) and 34% from distance (13/38).
“The shooters will continue to shoot,” recalls Rick Carlyle. “It doesn’t matter what came before. The best have short memories and it’s only what’s happening now and what’s next. He’s been phenomenal and it’s not just his shooting. He’s turning the corner and has a bigger role with more responsibility.”
This Monday, Aaron Nesmith will have a chance to confirm that he indeed found the address during the Bucks reception.
