Fighting Irish exit in the top 10 of the AP Top 25


Notre Dame football players have won six games in a rowafter defeating lowly Boston College on Saturday. The Fighting Irish beat the Eagles 25-10. As a result, Notre Dame is on the rise in the Associated Press Top 25 poll in college football.

Notre Dame was raised two places to no. 10 in total in the country, according to the latest survey. The Fighting Irish were able to reverse itafter an 0-2 start to the season.

“We know there’s a lot of things to clean up,” Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman said after beating Boston College, according to the Associated Press. “The challenges are going to get tougher. … As you move further into November, everything is magnified.”

The Fighting Irish are hoping to make the College Football Playoff this season. Notre Dame opened 2025 campaign with loss to Miami (FL) and Texas A&M. The team played for the national championship during the 2024 season, before losing to Ohio State.

Notre Dame has been an inconsistent team

The Fighting Irish struggled to stop their first two games. Since then, Freeman has taken a more active role in the defensive game.

It turned out to be a blessing. Notre Dame has won six in a row, including a thrilling victory over their bitter rival USC. Notre Dame needs to winto keep their CFP hopes alive.

The team found some stars on offense. Jeremiiah Love was a workhorse at running back. Love let loose on Saturday against Boston College. He finished the game with 17 carries for 136 yards and two touchdowns.

However, Notre Dame is not a perfect team. The Fighting Irish seem to have trouble hitting. The Fighting Irish had three different missed tackles against Boston College.

“And we’re going to keep putting guys in there until we consistently have somebody who can put the football through the post,” Freeman added. “And we have three kickers. But if you rotate three kickers, you don’t have one.”

Notre Dame football has games against Navy, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Stanford remaining. Time will tell if Notre Dame can maintain its momentum.
