Jordan Ott reveals Jaylen Green is ‘in a good place’ ahead of return

SCOTTSDALE – What was the main question for Jordan Ott and Phoenix Suns with seven games in the season? When will Jalen Green makes his Suns debut?

After being announced during the preseason, he would miss the start of the season; there was no schedule. Fast forward two weeks, and the same is true.

however, Green participated in 5v5 action on Saturday and did something on Sunday, even with the early game. He was even seen warming up. Granted, he wasn’t going full speed, but it was promising to see him getting ready.

After practice on Monday, Ott spoke to reporters and hinted one more chance for Green to come back.

“He just had a great response. The last few days have been productive for him,” Ott said Monday. “Today was a weaker day (on the court). So it’s kind of timed for where we’re going to hold ourselves day-to-day. But he’s in a good place.”

The team is resting Green due to his injury. The soft tissue injuries they are not ones to be messed with. Also, there is no exact diagnosis because medical scans can only reveal the extent of his injury.

Despite his injury, the Suns have shown some big improvements, especially defensively. It also helps that Devin Booker is playing at an All-NBA level.

His shot creation and leadership got his team going. Granted, they are 3-4, but their previous two wins have been impressive. Both were without Green and teammate Dillon Brooks.

Green’s next chance to play would be Tuesday against the Golden State Warriors. Anything can happen, but the vague nature of any return can dash any hope.

Either way, the newest Phoenix Sun wants to play and he’s made it known. It could be a matter of when Green will return, not if he won’t.
