Seattle is streaming Top Gun with Rashid Shahid’s epic meme
The Seattle Seahawks are one of the winners of the NFL trade deadline after getting one of the fastest wide receivers in the NFL. Rasheed Shahid is a playmaking receiver that New Orleans Saints fans have fallen in love with.
Now he’s in Seattle catching passes for Sam Darnold in what will be a prolific offense. After trading for a rising star receiver, the Seahawks channeled theirs the inner Top Gun with a funny meme about adding his speed to the offense.
“I feel the need… the need for Sheed.”
This meme is actually on point, as Shaheed grew up in San Diego, just minutes away from MCAS Miramar, where Top Gun was filmed. The classic film was one of the Tom Cruise‘s best movies, and became one of the most famous actors on the planet after it was released. Top Gun recently released a second movie a few years ago.
Shaheed will team up with fellow Southern California native Sam Darnold, who grew up in Capistrano Beach and went to San Clemente High School, about an hour north of Shaheed’s high school in Mount Carmel.
Shahid will be reunited with former offensive coordinator Clint Kubiak, who knows how to use the speedy receiver. Shahid could make a serious impact this weekend against the Arizona Cardinals. He has 44 catches for 499 yards and two touchdowns on the season. Those are great numbers playing as VR2 behind Chris Olave.
