NBA: The last undefeated record is since the Oklahoma City Thunder lost to the Portland Trail Blazers
The Portland Trail Blazers fought back to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder and end their last NBA undefeated streak.
The defending champions won their first eight games of the new NBA season, but their streak was ended when Portland came back from 22 points down to win 121-119.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored a career-high 35 points for Oklahoma City, and last season’s MVP has now scored 20 or more in 81 straight games, extending the streak to the third-longest in NBA history.
Luka Doncic beat Viktor Vembanyama as the Los Angeles Lakers beat the San Antonio Spurs 118-116.
Elsewhere, the Brooklyn Nets became the latest team to pick up their first win of the season, beating the injury-hit Indiana Pacers 112-103.
Nikola Jokic had a triple-double to lead the Denver Nuggets to a 122-112 victory over the Miami Heat, while the New York Knicks scored 83 points in the second half to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 137-114.
