A rival makes Seth Curry a proposal that would give him a $250,000 trade incentive

The The Golden State Warriors won for a mixed start to the 2025-26 NBA season, currently at 5-4 after Wednesday night’s road loss against the Sacramento Kings. Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler did not play in that game for Golden State, while the Kings were also missing some of their big names, but it was still a disappointing result for a Warriors team that has struggled on the road this season.

Before the season, the Warriors signed Seth Currybrother Stephen Curry, on a contract, then released with the intention of re-signing him later.

now, more details are coming out about how that re-signing process might play out.

“November 11 is the first day they have enough flexibility to re-sign.” Seth Curry after bringing him to training camp, but like Marc Stein wrote here recently, it’s believed that Golden State could wait a little longer to sign the younger Curry to a contract until the end of the season to create some operating room under the second apron,” reported Jake Fisher on Marc Stein’s Substack. “One rival cap strategist has suggested holding off on re-signing Curry until closer to Thanksgiving for $20 in the future that could afford some $2 trade for Golden State.

Big decision for the Warriors

The Warriors would certainly like to have all the depth they can get this year given the injury risk hanging over the franchise due to the age of their stars. While Seth Curry is no spring chicken himself, his body has far less NBA mileage than some of the Warriors’ other veteran players, and he could theoretically step up and play some minutes in case someone goes down with an injury.

Overall, the Warriors have looked impressive at times this season and frustrating at others, descending into enigmatic games against the Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers last week.

Either way, the Warriors will next take the floor on Friday night against the Denver Nuggets on the road.
