Stephen Curry is out against the Nuggets due to illness

Golden State The Warriors had a negative injury report regarding superstar guard status Stephen Curry ahead of Friday’s game against the Denver Nuggets.

Curry missed the Warriors’ previous matchup against the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night, a contest they lost 121-116. He played in the team’s first eight games of the season before being sidelined due to illness.

Unfortunately for Golden State, Curry’s ailment hasn’t gone away yet. As a result, he will miss the team’s upcoming duel with the Nuggets on Friday night, according to reporter Anthony Slater. The game marks the start of the team’s group stage play in the NBA Cup.

“Steph Curry will not play tomorrow against the Nuggets in Denver. He is out with an illness. Symptoms worsened yesterday. Jimmy Butler is questionable to return. Draymond Green is probable,” Slater wrote.

Before the illness, Curry averaged 26.8 points, 4.3 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. He is shooting 45.4% from the field, including 38.9% from beyond the arc and 95.3% from the free throw line.

The Warriors will go through the second game in a row without the elite services of Stephen Curry. As a result, they face a tough matchup against the Nuggets.

Golden State will hope that both Jimmy Butler III and Draymond Green will be ready to go against a powerful Denver team that has Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray playing at a high level to start the year. Both teams have championship aspirations after the roster changes they made in the offseason, making this matchup a big one for both sides.

The Warriors will look to Butler, Jonathan Cumminga, Brandin Podziemski, Buddy Hield, Moses Moody and Will Richard to make more of an impact on the court while Curry is out. Having won their regular season opener against Denver at home, they will be aware of the tougher circumstances given that this contest is in hostile territory.

The Warriors will continue their preparations for the match against the Nuggets. The contest will take place on November 7th at 10:00 PM ET.
